About the Method
Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional practice from South India that connects movement and breath in a continuous flow.
Rooted in a lineage of masters and passed down through generations via the parampara , it is a method that develops through consistent and dedicated practice.
More than just a physical practice, Ashtanga Yoga is a path of transformation : over time, the body gains strength and flexibility, the breath softens, and the mind finds greater stability.
In a Mysore style practice, each student is guided individually, progressing at their own pace. This approach makes the practice accessible to all bodies, minds, and ages, while allowing for a deep and personal experience. The goal of yoga is not to achieve the perfect posture, but to build a true connection with your inner self and self-discovery that deepens with each practice.

Fernanda Carvalho
My journey in yoga deepen in 2019 when I went to India for the first time and completed a Hatha Yoga training, recognized by the Yoga Alliance. Back in Brazil, I continued my studies in Hatha Yoga with Professor Deni Galdeano and also completed a course in anatomy applied to yoga at Santa Casa de São Paulo, where he works as an anatomy professor in the medical course.
My life and practice changed completely in 2020 when I met my teacher, Lucas Carvalho . Since then, I have dedicated myself entirely to the study and practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Through him, I traveled to Mysore, the birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga in India, to study with his teacher, Sharath Jois, experiencing the parampara tradition firsthand. I had the opportunity to study with him for five months, during which he also became my teacher.
Along the way, I've had the privilege of studying and practicing with teachers like Lucia Andrade, Luke Jordan, Mathew Vollmer, and Wade Oakley.
For four years, I ran my own shala in São Paulo, Brazil, creating a space where students could immerse themselves in the practice in a traditional way. Today, I offer online classes in my Virtual Shala for students around in the world, as well as in-person classes in Noosa, Australia.
